THE DIGITAL HEALTH COMPANION ENHANCING A WELLNESS JOURNEY

Augmenting COMO Shambhala's wealth and breadth of wellness experiences, the centre has partnered with Halza — a social-medical app designed and made for women. Store, track, and share medical data for a seamless journey towards a better well-being.

Researchers found that women reported more health problems than men in a study of adult diseases in Bangladesh, Malaysia, Jamaica, and the United States.

This finding could be a startling revelation when statistics show that women live an average of seven years longer than men and more men than women have died from COVID-19 due to social factors, according to data collected by Harvard's GenderSci Lab.

The health challenges that women face can be remedied with better management of their well-being. But as the centre of wellness innovations and excellence, COMO Shambhala recognises the need not only to empower women to lead a healthier life in the physical realm but also to provide them access to their wellness needs in the digital domain.

With a booking app that allows users to easily make a reservation for a consultation or a programme in Singapore — to a soon-to-be-launched global wellness app offering curated activities, expert tips, informative podcasts, and nutritious recipes — COMO Shambhala's digital footprint takes a further step forward in a partnership with Halza.

Designed and made for women, Halza is a social-medical app that allows users to store, track, and share medical data securely. With a gamut of health data and medical records to manage — including personal information and those from the family — it may seem like an app like this should be pre-loaded to any mobile device by default.

From prepping for a yoga session at one of COMO Shambhala's many global retreats to consulting a nutritionist on a customised diet plan or planning a vacation to a private sanctuary by COMO Hotels and Resorts, the Halza app is an assuring digital companion that prevents potential disruption to a wellness journey.

ACTIVE CLARITY

COMO Shambhala's comprehensive list of wellness experiences complements the usefulness of the Halza app. Whether signing up for personalised programmes or attending antenatal classes for expecting and new mothers, the medical records stored on Halza takes the guesswork out of the legwork.

Ahead of any activities with COMO Shambhala, users can track over 20 vital signs to monitor and predict health trajectories, prevent health issues, and even manage chronic conditions with the Halza app.

Halza's period tracker is useful for better understanding cycles when scheduling wellness activities. Users get to log their start and end dates, identify irregular patterns, and predict the duration of the next cycle.

For expecting and new mothers attending one of COMO Shambhala's various antenatal sessions, the Halza app provides an intuitive pregnancy journal that tracks milestones, symptoms, moods, and changes to the body.

SHARED HEALTH

Assessing health data with a nutritionist or preparing to get into a fitness routine? With the "quickshare" function, users can provide COMO Shambhala's wellness practitioners access to medical information from blood pressure to body fat and other vital signs at a click of a button.

The DICOM viewer is another useful feature to assess visual records of X-rays, ultrasounds, MRIs, and CT scans. It is one thing to request scans from various medical centres and another to lug them around only for a peek. All scans can now be stored and accessed easily on a single digital platform.

Another function that allows users to share their health into the future can be found in the in-built reminders. Gone will be the days when medical appointments are scribbled on the back of a name card. Halza's medicine and health reminders notify users of scheduled dosage and duration of requirements along with daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly health agendas.

EASY TRAVEL

With a holiday destination to one of COMO Hotels and Resorts in mind, there is nothing more frustrating than forgetting a travel document or ten — especially when travelling with the family. Due to the pandemic, the ever-changing complexity of international travel will inevitably amplify anxieties.

Halza has introduced its own digital COVID vaccination passport, the myHalza Pass, to make vacations less stressful. Travellers can manage the test results of their family members from a single device instead of shuffling through various documents.

On top of vaccination certificates,  PCR and ART records, and other medical information, myHalza pass also includes a travel planner and a family function in one place.

Mobile apps have become essential touchpoints in the advent of digital health. Similar to how the purpose of “wellness for all” drives COMO Shambhala’s mission, Halza believes that everyone should have access to their health data anytime and anywhere. With a digital health companion, the wellness journey can only be a better experience.
